Flowers for a Tea occasion
Season: May
By Grand Master Fuden-an Sojitsu
Flower: Siebold's magnolia and Aster savatieri.
Vase: Celadon vase of the 'sangi' type.
Siebold's magnolia is one of the most representative flowers of the 'hatsu furo' period. This flower is matched with large leaves to highlight the beauty of its white bud. It is therefore important to choose a flower with many leaves. Since the bud is very fragile, it is important to treat it with care. The lower part of the floral ensemble is tightened up using Aster savatieri.
