Flowers for a Tea occasion

Flower: Camellia, white plum blossom and red plum blossom
Vase: Self made green bamboo vase without knot with notch.
Our house has an annual tradition of using a bamboo vase on the occasion of the New Year floral arrangement. This bamboo vase represents the joyous and fresh nature of the season. It is soaked in water for a long time before being placed in the tokonoma, or alcove in the tea room. Its lower part, which draws on the yellow, provides a charming background and counterbalances the camellia that I picked from our garden. A branch of white plum covered with moss and a green branch of red plum contrast beautifully.
